hello to all
what would cause the rpm to stay hi 3500 to 3000 then slowly back to normal 1500 only when riding then coming to a stop also is the temp on the bike always hi well i'm in florida damm hot to start with but when i'm in slow traffic my temp climbs pretty high even if the fan is on the minute i start moving it goes back down to a little under 1/2 mark.??
i've check for vacuum leak none present

As far as the high RPM, be sure your choke linkage is fully returning on the carb (Not just the cable or control).
Also check to see if your throttle cable has some slack in it.
The cable can even be miss-routed and can cause the throttle not to return fully.
Be careful.
As far as the temp, be sure coolant is full and no air bubbles are trapped.
I'm a CBR newb, so beware of my advise (Disclaimer...

Mines always ran hot, bout 3/4ths up when sitting. As long as the fan is kicking on and cooling it down a bit, the cooling system is working. I had a stuck thermostat about a year ago and even when the fan turned on it would have no impact on the temperature. It would just keep rising until I got moving. Thats when you know you have a problem...
