My bike sat for a year and a half. Started working on it this spring to get it ready for good weather. It ran like crap. Spitting sputtering.

When im in neutral the bike will go through the rpm range no problem. 1st gear will start to sputter around 10000 rpms. 2nd and so on it just sputters. it will lose power and eventually die.

The carbs have been cleaned and resyncronized. The pilot screw was set a 2 turns out. I have put in a new fuel pump, spark plugs. New gas in the tank also.

Bike still acting like crap. Should i adjust the pilot screw back to 1 1/2 turns?? Any other ideas of what it happening. Could there be bad coils?? Has anyone had problems with bad plug wires??

Thanks

I have also looke at the r/r. No visual problem. I havemt noticed it gett that hot eithet.

I had the same problem when i rebuilt my motor, in neutral it would rev fine but once i tried to ride it, it would sputter and die before i could even leave second gear, jetting the carbs solved my issue

Hi mate,
Did you clean the carbs or have someone else clean them?
I.E are you sure they were cleaned properly?
Jets and air passages all cleared and re-assembly all correct?
Ride safe,
Ant.
