Naked CBR
Guys, I have been riding this broken fairings CBR for 3 weeks now. I don't want to spend money on fairings ( expensive and I will crash anway). My first bike, have not crash so far. I also ride 100 mph on the freeway or highway this morning. The previous owner dropped the bike and the left rear fairing is messed up, I'm using duct tape to tape them together. U should see my bike, so funny, duct tapes all over the fairings.
Here are my questions: Can I remove all the fairing and expose the engine without disobeying the law? Will I get in trouble with cops (most importantly since I only have permit for now and ride on freeway , clucth will wear out faster in stop and go traffic) ? And I think I will paint it black with cans paints (affordable)? Anyway advises? Thank you

You'll need to at least mount some sort of headlight if you go naked. May need to mount front turn signals, but that depends on your state law. You'll get no wind protection if you remove the fairings.
Your clutch should be fine in stop and go traffic, just don't start slipping it more than needed, but really, i'd worry about the engine overheating more than the clutch. Spray can paint job is cheap, but from what i hear, it's not something that's gonna last.

RE: Naked CBR
Have a look at Honda Hornet, wot they did was ditch the fairing, and put bin bits to make a new bike. knocked off the the air intake and altered the gearing, not suggesting you do the same thing, but it may give you some ideas at least.
Lots of people turn the CBR's into steet fighters,(toss the fairing) so there will be a lot of info out there on these.
Another option, you can get a race fairing (fibreglass not ABS plastic) which is a lot cheaper, it will need to painted though.
