Default My opinion of the Cbr f3

I’ve been riding my bike through out the winter in South Carolina. I have spent a lot of time on I85, Rode through the twisted roads at Ceasers Head, and gathered compliments from people who have "Newer Sport Bikes". I love the Honda f3. That’s considering its my first street bike and I owe nothing on it. If the newer 600cc bikes are lighter and faster then I cant wait to own a newer 600cc. I’ve learned to appreciate the seating position on this bike, especially great when carrying a passenger. The motor on a properly running Cbr f3 is more than enough for anyone that obeys all traffic laws. During my short time of owning this bike I have learned the "best modifications" you can do is a Complete inspection and replace all worn parts such as brakes, tire, spark plugs, etc.

Well, if you came looking for an argument, you came to the wrong place . I think you're going to find that most of the owners here would basically agree with you. Do the maintenance and they'll last forever. Glad to hear that you're enjoying your bike.

I guess you got your clutch issue resolved. What did it turn out to be ?

Default No arguments here!

I was just simply putting my two cents in. I see that there are a lot of die hard F3 fans. I have grown to be one. With the clutch issue I simply didn’t tighten the main bolt down enough. I was scared I was going to break something. I went back in there with a impact and let the bolt have it. I put everything back together expecting no change, I crank the bike up and let out on the clutch....and I have been riding ever since!

Glad you're enjoying the ride. They are a great bike.
I'm actually is a position now that can see me get my bum on a new bike (& its not a Honda!), actually it will be in June at the end of our financial year when the dealers are desperate for sales.
Unfortunately I can't afford to have 2 bikes, I have been caught up in the excitement of getting a new bike, but now the thought of parting with my F3, I bike I have owned for nearly 12 years. They are just such great all rounders, they handle, stop & go better than any other bike I have owned. And to be honest, the thought of someone else undoing all of my TLC is really weighing heavily on me.

Congrats on being able to purchase a new bike...Technology has come a long way from the f3 years. While new to street bikes I have been on two wheels racing dirt bikes since I was 4.Im sure you can find someone who is willing to pick up and maintain that f3. What bike are you thinking about
getting next?

I had a ride of a few different models on a ride day at the dealership, no intention or thinking about buying anything, just a free fang on some new machinery.
Anyway walked away from riding this with a BIG grin of my face.

Gotta second that, I get more compliments on the bike from people who still love the 'Old School CBR'. Considering it looks almost the way it did when it was new almost 15 years ago (Thanks to the previous owner taking good care of her) it can still turn some heads.

The F3 can't be beat if you do any two up riding compared to the newer bikes, rather than having a pointy little seat up her bum, my wife actually can sit ON the seat.

Not condoning your love of a non-Honda, but in this case, totally justifiable. Falling for a Ducati isn't something that can be helped, at least you're not shopping for Gixxers or something similar.

i love my F3 as much as all of you, but i also have that itch to upgrade to a fuel injected bike. its just in my head though. im the type that likes to upgrade things on a regular basis to keep up with the modern times. wether its my computer, cell phone...car, bike?! i just cant make myself sink hundreds if not thousands into my currently 12-13 year old bike that is hardly supported anymore. it feels that money could much better be used towards new technology. but thats not saying i need a 2009 CBR600 RR, as much as i would *love* to have that bike. im thinking more towards finding a nice well kept F4i (split seat -- HATE! the banana seat on the F3) and then being happy with that for a long while to come. but either way, i cant afford to jump into another bike right now... money pits!!

anyways thats just my personal rant, not trying to jack your thread just giving my input on the f3 as i see it.
