Default My First Race in Pre'97 Class on F3.

Just had my very first race.
Im racing in Pre'97 class and 99% of all the riders do as well. Basicaly the bike and frame has to be from any bike 600cc or less made before 1996.
I qualified 19th out of 30 in the wet.
In the first race i finished 20th (watch video below), in the second race i finished 14th (sorry no video from that one.
Here are a few pics and video.
Let me know your thoughts.

Use your brakes to slow down, not your motor.Plus this will help put a nice amount of heat in the tires.

What Bridgestones are you using?Looks like 090s

That was awesome!, I recently started getting into MotoGP Valentino Rossi is the man, anyways my interest keeps increasing that just motivated me how much would it cost to enter a race like that?

Was using Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas, Soft front Medium Rear.
I do use my brakes mate and not the engine - not sure where you were getting that impression from? May be it was all the chattering of the rear i had at the start? Sure i can only get faster now :-)

To enter a race is a bout 120 USD.
Not including the bike ( i bought it as a road bike 4 years ago) it all came to about 4-5 grand in euro, so probably 7-8 grand in USD to get all the gear and convert the bike into competitive race bike.
Not cheap.
Every race including race entry fees ends up sending you back about 300-400 euro, fresh oil, new tires every 2nd meeting, traveling costs, food and a million other things, so it aint cheap but still - best fun in the world.
I'll put up some pics and videos from my next race which is taking place on the 11th April on my favorite track :-)
Thanks for the comments and im very surprised that so few people are interested in racing especially when it involves an F3.
Racing is big here in Ireland and very big in UK and rest of Europe.

This sport takes lots and lots of seat time.

You're relying on your engine too much to slow you down for a turn. Many times you are dropping too many gears before entering a turn.

What rear suspension are you using?

Wish we had that many participants racing F3s over here.40? Sheesh,we're lucky if we get 12.
