Default Maybe a new bike

Hi all, I've been riding for less than a month and while I got a killer deal on my 98,I recently found out I'm beingpromoted and was hoping to either sell mine or trade it in for an 06' or 07' What I really want to know is what are the differences between a 600 and a 1000, other than the obvious bigger engine in the 1000. I worried that if I get a newish 600, in another year I'm going to want a 1000, so should I just get the 1000 now? Also, mine has about 1600 miles, but I get a rattling above 4000 rpms, I've been reading the forums and it sounds like a CCT issue just from what I've read, any ideas there?

Thanks.

i would definitely not get rid of your F3, why do you need to upgrade. People talked me out of selling mine. what do you need in a 1000 race replica that your F3 doesn't have? is it really not fast enough for you. the F3 is made to be ridden comfortably, most of the other bikes are just a bunch of flashy stuff that isn't going to matter when it comes to just riding.

this should be your first hint at deciding what to do...people who say theyve outgrown their bikes are usually the squids who go down after switching to a bigger bike...take your bike to a track, andsee how much you've mastered a 600, chances are you're gonna find out you have ALOT to learn...sorry if im sounding like a dick, but im just trying to be blunt here

Cat85 isn't being a dick, he's being realistic. A 600 is way more than a new rider can handle even after a year. It takes a long time to become an accomplished, competent, and safe rider. Put your ego on the shelf for a while, and live. Take your time and enjoy learing to ride. Don't be a squid. BTW, that bike you're on will do 0-60 in first gear in around 3 seconds. That'squicker than any car you will ever have.

Thanks for the concern guys, I understand what you're saying, I'man adult,I got it, but really what I'm asking is, if I *were* to get a *new* bike should I get a 600 or a 1000, my concern being thatif I make this kind of purchase, am I going to be sorry in 1 or even two years down the road when my bike isn't even half way paid off andI feel that maybe I'm ready for something bigger? As for now, yes I'm fine and happywith my bike, the accidental wheely I did a couple of hours ago proves it's got enough power, so like I said I'm good except for the little rattling, but also looking towards the future though and that's whyI ask.

if your really hellbent on a new bike does this....

get the promotion, open an interest bearing savings account, save the money till late next year, buy a new 600 with cash on an 'end of season' sale. That way you have a lot of seat time to decide if you really need a bigger bike, which you dont yet. Learn to ride with what you have before you get something that may be too much for you to handle. Unless you plan on racing for money every weekend, then you dont need a 1000. A newer 600 would be nice compared to an older one however. Not a bad upgrade for someone who isnt buying a 1000 just because its a 1000.

600s are more fun than 1000s but if you wanna get a 1000 get it , a 6 is no less dangerous than a 1000 just remember that accidental wheelie on a 6 may be you bein flipped over on a 1000 .hold on to the f3 maybe hit the track improve on your skills then think about a bigger cc . unless you live by alot of open road or plan on goin to the track you will never have a chance to open that bigger bike to its potential or near it .

Save your money bro---invest it in some other **** such as a stage 1 or 2 Jet kit, a nice aftermarket pipe a 520 conversion an undertail kit------get better on your bike and I guarntee you your F3 when ridden properly, although heavy, will keep up with most of the bikes out there today..If you are upgrading for cosmetics there are tons of things you can do to the f3 to clean it up and make it look sexy.
