Default loss of power - top of 4th & >8k in 5th

got a '98 f3. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear are great but right around 11k in 4th gear i can feel the bike loosing power. when i shift to 5th the bike runs like **** anywhere above 8k - starts to get kind of jerky like its running out of gas. same with 6th. I tore down the carbs and every component has been soaked in parts solution and hit with compressed air. After reassembaling, and installing the carbs i syncronized them, but the problem persists. I'm starting to run out of ideas. I'm starting to think fuel delivery issues. Blocked fuel filter? bad tps? fuel pump? coils? Any info is much appreciated. James.

Air leak? Are all your hoses secured and fitting tight?

all my vacuum lines are snug, but i will double check and make sure they're not cracked or torn anywhere. this is driving me crazy. at the top of 4th it starts to loose power, anywhere above 8k in 5th gives me herky-jerky like its running out of gas or somthing, and anywhere above 7k in 6th it does the same thing. btw it does have an aftermaket hindle slip on, but i wouldnt think it should cause these kinds of problems. thanks

oh ya the air filter is def clean. i noticed that the vent line for the tank was clogged though, so i cleared it out the best i could thinking that at high speeds there was a vacuum inside the tank and the bike was starving for fuel. well when i put it back together the bike ran great.....for a while. the only thing i notice was a slight hesitation when i shifted into sixth. i would get off the gas to shift to sixth, and as soon as i got back on the gas again i would feel a slight hesitation. so i figured I'd pull over and pop the gas cap up just to see for sure if the tank vent was the problem. after i pulled away with the gas cap ajar it started acting really funny. now fourth fifth and sixth it just runs like garbage no matter what rpm I'm at-with or without the gas cap ajar. this problem is so intermittent I'm starting to think its got to be electrical. i mean the bike must have sat for a while because its a 98 w/ 8k miles on it. strange case i know, but anymore suggestions are much appreciated. thanks james
