Default Looking to get my first bike, need help

Hey guys, new the the forum was wondering your opinions on a bike im looking at. This is what's listed on the craigslist posting:

"for sale is my 97 cbr 600
this is one of the cleanest f3s I've personally seen. never been laid down, taken extremely well care of.

the bike has 20,000 miles on it

double bubble windsheild
aftermarket mirrors
vance and hines slip on pipe
dyna pro ignition advancer
carbs jetted

tires are in good shape, michelin pilot powers with about 1500 miles on them.
this bike is in excellent shape, you won't be dissapointed."

He told me that he is the second owner and has never laid the bike down. His asking price is $3200 obo, the bike is mint from what I see in the pictures not one scratch. I'd like to hear what others have to say, everyone that I know has R6's, gixxers, or RR's so I figured I would jump on a forum and ask people who have these bikes. Really appreciate it, thanks.

wouldnt hurt to go take a look at it.
but $3200 is really high. high retail for f3's in great shape is ~2700-2800

After wrenching on my F3 for a month or so now, I can tell you they are simple bikes with a great aftermarket following and nearly bulletproof. If you do end up with one, all the info you need is right here. Lots of luck and don't be afraid to walk away from this one if the guy thinks the one he has is worth more than it actually is!!

As someone who bought his first of CL be wearry and make sure you get a contract written and signed by both of you... After buying it take it to a shop for an inspection and make sure you have it written in the contract that if the inspection comes up with issues you can return the bike... Ive spent over 4 months with my bike working on it and shop time restoring what a tweaker did to her... She runs GREAT now but thats a chunk outa my pocket to fix the lil things you miss and the band-aids people put on

GL with it man and run the price down on him... Post some pics when you can
