Hey guys, I'm lookin to buy a used CBR600 for my first bike and I'm talkin to someone who owns a '98 CBR. Its got 9500 miles on it and hes sellin for a good price. I don't know much about the reliability of motorcycles or different manufacturers yet. Are there any major reoccuring problems with this bike I should know about or is it pretty reliable and a good bike?

 

Most hondas are reliable as hell. Rectifier issues seem to be the most common among Honda's. Otherwise, bullet proof. They dont break in until 20,000 miles.

No major ones I can recall with that model. Change the oil and take care of it and it'll take you for a longgggg ride. Good luck with the new bike.

 

my F3 is my 1st bike. it has about 27,xxx miles and runs great ! fast , handles wonderful and very easy to maintain. i havent had to replace anything major yet. hondas are the best way to go ! especially the F3 it makes a great 1st bike or just a all around comfy bike

 

Low miles....how much is he asking?

I bought my F4 a couple months back, its my first street bike and i love it....

The bike has been sitting alot thats for sure....If ya buy it just change the oil and the plugs...maybe get it check out at the local shop and then do all the maintainence yourself....that motor should last easily 40-50k more miles....Hondas make great motors.....and bikes! good luck
