life span?!?!?

RE: life span?!?!?
My 1997 F3 has 38k miles, which is, let's see, x8/5 = 60,800 km. Poor thing only had 21k when I bought it a little over 2 years ago, so it really wasn't ridden much till I got it.
The engine should be good for 200k km. Things likebearings, etc. will wear out and need replacing over the life of a bike, but if you keep up on that stuff you can pretty much keep it on the road as long as you want.

I've heard of a guy on an 06(I think) F4i with by now probably close to 160-190K miles on his with no problems. My 87 has 41k miles on it right now with just a need for valve adjustment, and some minor service work really for it to be ideal.
Really, if you keep both wheels on teh ground, the valves adjusted right, and your oil changed with good filters and oil on schedule, it'll go for a VERY VERY long time. Just look at the guys on the Kawasaki ZG1000's with like 300 and 500K on them, routine maintenance is the key.
