Default lack of power funny sound

Ok guys, this one has got me good. My bike cranks fine and idles fine. But as soon as I give it gas the exhaust sounds muffled and extrem lack of power. Its something electrical (I think) because I hit a bump and it picked up and went correctly. I've checked all connections there good. I can't find the problem. Any suggessions would help. I put a battery charger on it and it sounded better but not 100 percent. Please help.

how long ago did this problem start? did it start instantly, or did it gradually get like this? when you hit a bump and it started running normally, did it ride normally the rest of your trip, or for a minute, or a few minutes?

it started about 2 weeks ago. I took it apart checked connection all seems well. when I hit the bump I only went 2 miles or so till I reached my destination. at first it didn't start till 20 minutes into trip. after I took it apart and got it back together it started immediatly. just had carbs done 3 months ago. that's not it. I've changed ignition coils cdi box and nothing. I figure its a short. oh yeah I like your comment about not being a mechanic till drinking gas. it has absolutly no taste.LOL

Does it do it everytime soon as you roll out the driveway or does it kick in when you have been riding a bit?

dirty jets wouldn't explain the hitting bumps fixes it thing thought... might start with your coil wires and also check your vacuum hoses, if there is a leak the diaphragms won't be functioning properly. easiest/ fastest way to check it is remove your tank and air filter start the bike and rev it, look at all of your needle slides, make sure they all move in a rapid uniform action, if they don't then your main jets aren't opening fully, starving your engine of fuel, Its a lot quicker and easier than cleaning the jets... so start there... good luck!
