I called a local honda dealer today and was quoted $103 for just the rear seat cowl fairing. I am not sure he looked up the correct part. I was told I can find this fairing peice for 25-30. I have looked at CheapCycleParts.com and have found a part called "Stay, Seat Cowl" under their OEM section, yet I am not sure if this is the correct part. Can anyone help point me in the correct direction?

I payed roughly £60 for mine i think that equates to about $100 at the moment and i think it was well worth it especially as people dont even bother asking for a lift anymore as i use the single seat as a great excuse lol

 

I don't want to cover the seat up. Plus that isn't the piece I am looking for. I am looking for the plastic piece just BEHIND the seat as I said in my OP. On your bike that looks like the piece that the handle is attatched too.

 

The piece you are looking for is referred to as COWL SET, ST 77216-MAL-B31Z. The "Stay, Seat Cowl" is the metal piece that attaches the fairing (plastic) piece to your actual frame. If you look at the attached picture, the COWL SET, ST is the red piece. If this the piece you're after? If it is, you can give your dealer the above part number. I'm not sure if this piece was different between the early models and the newer F3's. I see these occasionally on Ebay but they are getting tougher to find.
The second picture has the STAY, SEAT COWL. It is the black piece the tailight and cowl connect to. Hope this helps.
