The color is Hot Rod Black from SEM. I used a $45 HVLP spray gun from Harbor Freight. I am trying to get the bigger grilles for the side vents. Here is what it looked like before, plus a bunch of gay stickers, about 10-15 hp worth of stickers.

I used the high temp ceramic paint on the frame, I figured it would be harder than just regular spray paint. Had to have a
makeshift over made with some tin and a kerosene heater. Came out very nice, and way cheaper than powder coat.

Those are 2 different tails. The 1 on it now is a 1 piece fiberglass from ebay. I had to use washers to space up the tail to get it to fit right.
The tail that was on it was cracked, I started to fix it, but decided on the tail that allowed the rear seat to be used. I still have the mono seat. $25 plus shipping and its yours, I alled some fiberglass to the cracked section, just needs some sanding and bondo now.
You can kida see the crack in the pics, on the opposite side of the bike at the corner.

FIgured I'd start from the beginning and go from there....Didn't take pics of every step, but got most of them. As you will see from the pics, this is about as DIY as you can get...everything was done in a 8x12 shed.

I was going to just tape off the motor at this piont, but figured I could get a much more professional look by going all the way with the frame....so about an hour later......

And about 2 hours after that, I had the motor degreased and covered in high temp flat black...rattle can......

You can see my ghetto labels in the pic, but they saved me a ton of time when it went back together. I'll post the rest later, gotta get the kid to school....enjoy..

awesome project, that has to be a great feeling of accomplishment when you were done

and sorry to keep bugging you but do you have any pics of how you spaced up the tail to the seat?

I have the same one piece fiberglass tail with no mounting tabs at all and right now theres already some cracking from the tail bouncing and tapping against the frame so much
