i have a 97 f3 that is just turning over 23000 miles. is that high for the year? im sure this is a dumb question, but how many miles should i be able to expect on the engine and tranny. i know that it varies from how the bike is taken care of, but how many miles do you all have on your f3? just curious. thanks for the input!

That engine if looked after will do 100,000 miles easy.

My 98 F3 has over twice the mileage of yours (47000 came up yesterday, as it happens) and goes great. Mr Honda doesn't build crap engines, look after it, especially don't miss oil changes and it's good for years.

23K is just scratching the surface. Properly taken care of, it will do several times that before needing any major repairs.

I've just reached 53K (Bought it w/ 1 mile on the clock). Taken mine back and forth across the states and then some. Like everyone else is sayin... treat it nicely and keep up the maintenance and there shouldn't be any major issues.

I have an F2 that is 1 tank away from 30k miles on the clock. Needs some carb work, but still runs strong.

i'm coming up on 17K on my 98, but then it was also garaged for a long time by the previous owner. i've had it for 3 weeks and already have put on 600 miles.
