Default jet or not?

Ibought a 97 f3 with a K&N and a D&D slip on on it.Right now I have the cabs off of it.
Should I re-jet them before I put them back on.I have some 142.5's and 145's now if they
would help. Also my tach isn't working any ideas.I checked the wire from the rr for continuity.
Thanks for the help you guys are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Look at it this way. If you go to larger jets which = more fuel consumption. If you want to have a larger fuel bill, go for it. To change the jets out, you need to take off the float bowl covers too. As far as the tach not working, you will need a special tool to test it out. The tool is a peak voltage tester. The problem can be three things, CDI, loose connection, or tach.

I wouldn't worry about fuel economy being that much decreased with a jet kit. Your powerband should increase and you'll get more power out of the bike.

I personally wouldn't do it because it can cause some headaches if you don't do the install right. Unless you've done them before, then go ahead.
