Most comapnies have a policy that says if your insurance premiums for an entire year are below "X" amount of dollars, you have to pay the entire years premiums.

For mine, American Family, if your one year premiums are less than $250, you hvae to pay it all at once, no monthly payments.

You have to have a motorcycle license/endorsement to get insurance. I got dropped at first b/c I didn't get my license within the first 30 days of getting insurance on the bike. Not my fault it was raining. So if you can get your dad to get a mc license then he could be the primary driver.

My insurance for 20 yr old male, clean driving record, and insured for "pleasure" (ie not primary vehicle) is $685 a yr through progressive. This covers everything except me wrecking it and it getting stolen. But I have all the medical stuff and uninsured motorist, the stuff that matters.

you can insure a bike for road use for 6 months, but most companies will want you to put storage insurance on it for the other 6. if you have a lapse in coverage on a vehicle, some will use it as an excuse to jack your rate.

As mentioned, when the policy is under some amount of money, they will often require payment in full. I have all my stuff...home, cars, bikes etc with one company, and get to do a monthly payment with no interest penalties.

Rotella T, Delio, Delvac...and other so called "deisel" oils, or "C" rated oils also have an "S" rating (S is for Spark ignition, C is for compression ignition)....I think the rating is up toSJ now.

I've switched to Rotella T with great sucess. It has some good detergents in it, so the first time you run it itwill come out dirty. I know a number of guys that have put 50K plus on bikes running just that oil. I run it at the track for track days and that combined with street miles it still goes 2000 miles before you can sense the shifting getting harder.

Are you guys that are paying $200 or less insuring for a passeger aswell? Cause at least in minnesota through progressive it is a separate coverage. I pay about $400/year for liability and passeger coverage. The passeger coverage was actually more expensive than coverage for myself/accedent.
