Angry ICM wiring SOS - I repeat SOS

Long story short...

97 cbr 600 f3 + speed bump + 20 mph = ICM coming unplugged(unknown at time), bike died, towed bike home, 2 days later found ICM was reason for my headache.

ICM also took the plug that held the wires in with it with the exception of 3 Y,G/W,BU/G and I have gone through 3 different wiring diagrams, including the one in the service manual for my bike but none of them match up to the wires that were still plugged in. So wiring diagrams are no use.

I have even tried find company that made the ICM for Honda cause I know they sometimes switch the wires around during programing, but that didn't work...cant find company.

So any ideas I'm open to..its very frustrating being 4 months without riding and all I need to ride again is figure out the order of the wires.

P.S. Just to make sure I checked every wire for continuity, shorts, ext.. regulator, ignition pulse generator, ignition coils, alternator, fuses and everything is working correctly.

I wanna see what else I can do before shelling out money for new ICM AND/OR harness when both of mine are still good.

can we get a picture of what you're talking about? Most of my fairings are off so I could probably check quick, but need to know what I'm looking for.

In addition, I sat on phone w/ Honda for 2 hours & support told me that I wasn't going crazy - that something isn't matching up w/ what wires were still plugged in, compared to the same diagram in front of him that I had in front of me. I got the bike from my brother he has been totaled & rebuilt 2 times. I'm assuming was rebuilt by Honda last. All the parts on it are stock for my year/make/model but something just isn't adding up. I will also add that when trying to start & turning over motor in 1st clutch pulled in the bike actually pulls away from me like its trying to go, haven't figured out if maybe my clutch just isn't disengaging all the way or not and if that has any connection to why not starting.

I went out and took a look at my ecu box and the harness. Take your harness plug and plug it into your ecu. Then you will be able to tell which side has the writing on it. The order as follows is from left to right when the side I list is facing upward. Side with writing: skipped, white/yellow, skipped, skipped, yellow/green, teal, yellow/red, yellow/blue. Side without writing: yellow, red, white/green, black, skipped, blue/green dashes, green, yellow

The clutch would be completely unrelated, check that you have proper slack, you should be able to pull it in about a quarter or half inch at the end before any tension is felt.

please note that this is the 95/96 harness and I cannot guarantee that there wasn't a wiring change when they went with the new ecu.

Kris, I think you're spending a whole lot of time trying to figure out what wire goes where. If the wiring harness doesn't match up what is supposed to be on your bike, then it's the wrong one. Go on ebay and pick up an intact wiring harness. You can find them for around $50. The ICM can be had for less than $100.

If the wires simply fell out of the connector because the ICM fell off the bracket, then I'd replace it. Those wires need to be held in securely, otherwise your just going to have headache after headache. You could replace the harness in one day and be done with it.
