I like the mod alot. It doesnt seem to be that hard to do...lol And OP throwing out the foam you cut prolly wasnt the best idea hahaha. I like the wedge idea at the rear of the seat. Maybe just leave a small section alone sorta liek this:

I am looking at doing this soon. What kind of inexpensive gel pads would work and use what to keep them from moving? Another concern is I am tall 6.1 and wondering if my needs are going to cramp up going down in the seat?

 

i just use some shelf liner that i got from home depot. i used it so the seams from the padding dont show thru the vinyl. im short about 5'10 and the distance from seat to footpegs had change. at first i felt like i was going to have to lower the foot pegs some how, but after a day or two of rideing i got use to it...hope that helps.. today i just droped my seat off at the upholstery shop to get it rewarped.and F.Y.I when you put the vinyl back on. start from the front of the seat.
