You have 95-96 carbs.

The carbs are not the same. There's a 3 hp difference between the two, when they are right.
95-96 carbs are the same.97-98 carbs are the same.

When you rip apart F2s and F3s like I have over the past two years you see the minute things they changed and how they affect the bike.Plus I know a few guys that have the former factory race bikes and I now know Mike Smith,so I find out all kinds of silly stuff they did to them.Man,it's fun!!

I believe the carb internals (Bowls, floats, needles, diaphragms, jets) are interchangeable, but don't quote me on that.I'll definitely know over the winter, when I a/b them.

Well hell yea, thanks for the info man, I think you and your buds know whats up.

I'm rejetting my bike here in a few days (when ever I get around to tearing the carbs off the bike), and I think I may need to use the floats and some other pieces off my spare set of carbs, since they appear to be in very good condition.

Seeing as you've been around some factory race F3s and f3 carbs, perhaps you can help me out with some jetting questions. According to dynojet, a '98 stock motor with intake and exhaust would require 142 main jets.

My bike, however, has a 637cc 13:1 Wiseco kit installed, K&N, no ram air, and full exhaust, with a 2.5" slip-on (it was a 2" muffler before). It's running lean now (I added the exhaust and filter when i bought it, have yet to rejet). I am unsure of the jetting in the bike now, but if you could give me some insight as to a good starting point for main jet sizes, pilot settings, and if I should shim the needles, I would appreciate it. Elevation is 2200ft. I have a dynojet kit, but I think I may need to order some larger main jets, just unsure as to what size to get.
