Default How to remove rust from gas tank?

Hello,
I bought my F3 after its been sitting without moving for years. As a result of that I have my gas tank rusted from inside. The bike runs ok, but after while its hard to start up and engine just stops when in idle. I cleaned the carbs, the pump and thefuel filter but the problem repeats again. Do you have any ideas how I can clean up my gas tank and remove all the dirt and rust from it? Is there any chemical stuff I could use safely.
Thx

Theres kits for sale that come in stages with cleaner, primer and sealers. Itll clean all the rust out, and then recoat the inside to prevent rust from reforming.

I know one name "Kreem". Its about 35 bucks on Ebay. Not cheap.

I have some out in the shop, but can't remember the full name. Kreem is part of it. Yes, it is about $35 for the kit. I am not sure if you can buy it separately.

It is good stuff! If you use it, take your time and fully clean all the rust out with the supplied cleaner, then coat it many times with the sealer. Let it fully dry. Sounds like you are looking for the cheap way out, but this will never re-rust if done properly.

Its not bad, but will it work. I ve made some research. Some people say Kreem is bad. One guy told me just to buy a brush and scrape all the rust and dirt from inside

Rust in your tank is bad too. Have fun with a brush.

A "New" tank is about $600 from Honda. You might get a used one for $100.
