Default Hey guys is this a good deal? 97 CBR 600 F3

Just like the title says, I would like to know if this bike is a good deal for me to pick up and work on. THE BAD: plastics look like ****, needs a Gauge cluster, Ignition, handle bars, forks are bent, front rim is bent, rear brake line is cracked, and looks as if the footbrake pedal things needs fixing, carbs need cleaned, needs a rad and fan too....

THE GOOD: theres 14XXX miles only, Yoshi PipeandThe rest is good not much more to say there

Now hes got no title, but says he can get it, he just has to track down the chick with the title who he bough it from. Its 400 bucks now with no title or hellgo to the messenger service place and make it550 with a new R title. What would you guys do? I have never owned a bike, but sure as hell want one...plus Im pretty good with my hands and the mechanics of all this stuff so I would have no problem at all doing all the work my self, I just dont know if it is worth. Im looking for some seasoned biker advice on this. It deffinately needs work, but I have nothing but time really since I have my car as a DD.

So is everything wrong up there easily accessible maybe on these forums? I really want this but just let me know if it is worth it

and if any one needs help with some DSM advice, im your man to see lol Thanks alot for reading.

Just my opinion, but if I bought something like that it would be as a parts bike to fix a blown engine or something. I also would not buy without a title. In some states, those are hard to get unless you are listed as the current owner. I think that once you realize how much the parts cost even used for just the stuff you listed, you could just have bought a used bike that you could be riding from day one.

I bought a 97 that was simiar, but with an actual clean title, some plastics, dented front rim, some other things bent but solid in all the other aspects. I paid $1400 last year for it. You will basically dedicate your entire life to that, better off either parting it out or buying something functional.

Regular price in good condition is about 3,300. I just bought the same bike for $1,800 clean title and just minor fixes. I would wait on it unless you want to drop some money into it. Cause looks like you will need brand new fairings for everything which that will cost probably 700+ unless you can find a good deal. The housing for the light, which im looking for and having trouble. Gauge i just bought for about $75. So i think it is more trouble than its worth, especially with no title.

I wouldn't buy the bike to ride. I'm sure you could make close to a grand if you parted it out though assuming the engine is good and frame is straight.

Can you sell a frame with out a title, and the guy said he would include in the bill of sale that the bike is guarenteed to start up after it gets put back together or I can have the money back. I just dont know if that gives me any leverage incase it doesnt start. Either way Im just waiting on it now, hes hunting the title down...he gets it Ill pickit up and decided what to do. I dont need it on the road right away. Thanks Guys.

Racers need frames too, and they don't care about a title or not.
