Exclamation Help! water in tank problem (i think)

So I recently purchased a 98 cbr 600. Its my first bike so im still learning a bit. Anyways the bike ran excellent when i bought it about a month ago and has only 12,000 original miles. I have had to store the bike outside recently and we got a few nights of hard rain. I didn't realize that the fuel door doesn't actually seal at all and the rain water could get right it. The bike had some certain hesitation issues but still started up. After doing some research I tried some HEET brand treatment to dry up the water. It certainly helped because beforehand the engine would cut out at 3000 rpm and after would freely rev higher. Since it didn't solve the problem completely i turned to another suggestion I found called Sea Foam. I added a couple ounces of this as well to the fuel mixture. It didn't seem to help or hurt one way or the other. So I'm wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions. Was it a problem that I have HEET and Sea Foam in the tank now? My plan was trying to remove the carb tomorrow and give it a cleaning. Does this sound like the next logical step or am i overlooking something obvious? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

seafoam is good in the fuel lines to remove/clean debris in your carbs... although it will take a few tanks (or a few bottles) before it does its job right. I put too much in mine, and it fowled my plugs trying to get all the crap out at once.

id say best bet is dump your gas tank, then refill and add some iso-heet

Hey oncestruck,
I also had this problem not to long ago, there is an easy way to test to see if you fuel is dirty. take a sample if the fuel out and put it in a jar then put a dash of methylated spirits into the jar, if the fuel goes cloudy then its dirty, if it dosent and just goes a lil swirly then you should be fine. i just emptied mine out and filled it with clean juice.
