would the gauges not being on the bike make this happen? iv seen a couple posts of how the air silinoid doesnt operate without gauges is that true.could it be the problem?

ok to answer my own question yes you need the gauges to control that air control silenoid. and yes the problem i had was not having them on the bike. i put the gauges back on and it runs like a top. i can now shift into third and fourth ect. so everything i fixed is.....
1. clean carbs
2. new fuel line/filter
3. use the gauges
