Gonna have to to put some miles on the bike then scrub the tire of the oil before I can do a proper shake down run though...so it'll be awhile.
Safety first man! I think you've got that backwards. Scrub down the tire and bike first, then take it for a ride. Oil and tires can make for a really bad shake down ride. I think that Down would be the operative word here.

Yeah, I already cleaned up the tire as best I could. What I meant was that i'll put like 100-150 EASY miles to hopefully get the the oil off then i'll lean it on that side with all the oil.

I ordered the Ajustable one but it's on back order until March 31st. I decided to go with Adjustable so I could adjust the timing since I will be doing Dyno runs with the bike. Only a few more. Came with a Gasket also from Factory Pro.

Glad to hear about the 6th gear technique.

Okay, so I got the bike all back together and did an initial run, didn't run it hard in the twisties so i'm not sure exactly how it'll perform, just did mostly straightline testing. For the most part it feels more powerful, but only at say half throttle. Half throttle 4th gear pull on a downhill I could actually feel the steering get light where it didn't before. I would pressume the mod would make it relatively easy to get some nice headshake in the lower gears coming out of the corners. Only thing that might bother me is above half throttle or so the bike doesn't feel as powerful. Then again I also haven't rode much in the last 6 months.

Also, for my initial run is was probalby 37 degrees out so I'm not sure how that would effect performance. I'll have to wait for it to warm up and dry out before I run the bike on my favorite little road.

I got mine in today. It's a Factory Pro Adjustable ignition advancer. It came with a gasket too. I think it cost $60 or so.

I talked to the guy and he told me to start with 4degrees and work my way down but that 4 should make me happy. He did mention that you loose top end some but gain a lotof pull. I'm a mountain rider or a city rider so TQ is important to me.

I might throw it on the dyno next week(Since it's only $20 to run) to see how much I gain from it so I can compare.

Anyways I was refreshing up on installing it before I get to it. It's raining right now so I won't get to test it but then again I probably will because I ride in rain anyways.
