Default Help with ignition advancer installation

So I've got the cover off and have the stock rotor exposed, but I can't get the bolt off that holds the stock rotor. Just seems to spin the crankshaft when I try. Tried to have my dad hold the rear wheel with the bike in gear but didn't have any luck. What's the trick to getting the bolt off?

Also, the bolt isn't reverse threads is it?

I've not removed it before so I can't be sure. However the manual does say to put it in 6th Gear and then hold the rear brake. This gives the brakes the greatest mechanical advantage over the engine turning. It should come loose. Good luck...

I'll give a review later. Still trying to scrape off the old gasket before I put the cover back on and put the bike back together. Probably finish it up tomorrow.

Be thorough on the gasket removal, just make sure you don't gouge the surface with something sharp. You don't want it leaking on you.

BTW, someone else is having some issues with knowing where to align the ignition advancer. If yours is the same maybe you could help him with his. I don't think he's got the documentation for it.

Yeah, I haven't a clue, my ignition advancer came with no documentation, and mine's the non-adjustable +2 degrees.

Got the bike back together and did a short run, seems to pull A LOT smoother from 5k on, although I haven't had it past maybe 8k in 2nd gear, and no more than half throttle, does seem to have a more power. Unfortunately after getting home for a short 15 mile ride, I found a bunch of oil on my rear tire which was from me not installing the new gasket right. So the bike is back in pieces at the moment until I get the new gasket from the dealership. Gonna have to to put some miles on the bike then scrub the tire of the oil before I can do a proper shake down run though...so it'll be awhile.
