Default Help! I need some fast advice

ive been approached with an offer to trade my 1997 F3 in fairly decent shape, for a 1997 900RR which looks to be in great shape, my question is will i be losing any performance with this trade, do u guys think its worth it? is the bigger CBR a better bike all around? any input would be appreciated

awesome, thanks for the speedy reply. man its just that i love this F3 so darned much, lol, id hate to trade down, thats for sure, but if this is a better all around bike, im definately trading him, ive noticed also that kelly blue book values the RR at about 7 hundred bux more than the F3

demon, do you think the style is a little less refined on the 900 as the F3? i know its subtle, but the looks of the F3 are just a tad bit more sleek than the 900, imo, but i may be wrong. whats your opinion? from the dual round headlights, which ive never been very fond of, down to the 16 inch front tire, which seems odd to me, having it being a bigger bike and all. no wheel hugger kinda throws off the rear end imo as well, does the 900 have conventional or inverted forks?

It's a totally different class....you're talking about 300cc more HP at nearly same dry weight.......I've own a F2/F3 & YZF600....none has the torgue & acceleration like the 900rr...thought i have the 520 conversion but overall....if the 900rr you are looking at is in tip top shape like your F3...then ok....

But if it sounds too good to be true, it'd likely is.... Make sure bike is mechanically sound, all suspension, frame is straight....does sound like me wanting to trade down to a 600cc....something don't sound right??

Just be cautious....nothing IS free trade...

if you dont 100% like the 900rr more than your f3, dont trade. the f3 is a "touring" bike where the 900rr is more aggressive and made for track type riding. they are two different bikes, for two different purposes. i like the dual headlight, race machine look. the f3 styling turns me off as well, but its your taste that must decide what you ride. i dont think they have inverted forks, but i think they are better than that of the f3.

I thought 92-93's 900rr revolutionized the sport bike world in weight to HP ratios....the 16" front help prevent you doing wheelie too easy...LOL...Moto GP race bike/ many track bikes go 1/2" down size in wheel diameter? Why is that?

Honda might have been attempting to play with the rake and trail by lowering the front slightly and maintain fork travel. So that the bike wasn't coming from the factory with fork tubes sticking up out of the triples, maybe Honda went with a smaller wheel?

i just spoke with the owner and im going to look at the bike in a day or so. btw does this CBR have an aluminum frame? its lighter than the F3 but 300 cc bigger. i just hope that translates to a hell of a lot faster. lolol. he said it would do 180, so im hopeing to put a mr turbo kit or something similar on it to get 200 out of her. does anyone know if its the exact same motor set up as an f3 just 300 cc's bigger?
