Default Help 95' 600 RS

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why my bike wont start?

I got it yesterday and rode it around the block a few times in first gear then as soon as i hit second it sputtered and died. I had to walk it home. I checked the battery and thats good but i dont know what else to do as a beginer. Everything lights up but it will not turn over. I checked the battery and most of the electrical connections

All suggestions are helpful thanx.

Did you tighten the screws for the battery? That happended to me before while being on the highway. I guess it vibrated itself loose.

Yah all that is covered. I dont think it is an electric problem.

It turns over but thats about it. i went through the list of flooding and flushing and i replaced the main fuse....
I checked most of the electrical connections.

What is the best way to get to the plugs i wonder?

1) Does it have a full tank? If not, is the PCock turned to RES (mine did something similar and switch to RES worked for me).

2) You should be able to see the fuel pump on the left hand side, can you feel it working?

3) Can you see fuel in the fuel filter?

4) Is the fuel filter clogged?

5) How long did the bike sit before you took ownership of it?
