headlight question?
when i turn the high beams on i get a dark spot in the middle of the road, but the light is still bright around the sides, and the low beam works perfectly, would just the high beam be burnt out?
and what kind of bulb do i need to replace it with?

As WillDuce said, when you turn on the high beams, if it's burnt out, you get nothing. Both high and low are not on at the same time. It's one or the other.

You can probably pick up an H4 bulb from an auto parts store for less than $20. It wouldn't hurt to check your existing one and make sure that it's been installed correctly. If you remove the lower inspection cover below the headlight ( it's black and only has 2 thumb tabs holding it on) you can reach up behind the headlight, unplug it, remove the black rubber cover, then unlatch and remove the bulb. Don't touch the surface of the bulb if you take it out. It may be that it's not seated correctly in the headlight housing. There is a spring loaded bail that's holding the bulb into the headlight.
Has anyone put any after market bulbs in an F3. I have a 98 and the light just does not seem very bright. I just bought a replace ment H4 bulb and I also got some Headlight cover cleaner ( Like a polish ). I am going to try to clean it up and try a new bulb and see if that helps.
If it is alignment your are concerned with then there is two adjuster ***** located diagonally
on headlight assembly. You can adjust these manually while the bike is on if you can reach your arm in there.
Us F3 owners don't have the liberty of those newer bikes with the electronic on-dash light adjusters.
It looks like your lights are fine. You might just want to raise the circumference. The bright is supposed to be a little higher because it is designed to let you see further ahead and in a wider view. The void in the middle you see is actually the silhouette of the wire assembly in the bulb.
