Default headlight issue

so earlier this week i noticed that my headlight was not working, hi or low beam. i checked the fuses, all were good. made sure the connection to the bulb was good, it was. so i figured the bulb was burnt. didnt bother getting a new bulb cause i had an hid kit on order. the kit came in today, got it all installed correctly, plugged everything in, and nothing. double checked all the fuses. then i checked to see if i was even getting voltage at the plug, and im not, also noticed the hi beam light wouldnt come on.
just tried cleaning the hi/low beam switch.
dont really know where to go from here. anyone else have a similar issue or have an idea as to where i should look?
thanks.

Take a look at this thread. No power to the headlights is common on Honda's.

you nailed it on the head, a lead broke loose on the starter switch, gonna solder it back up in a little bit.

Yeah, blue wire in the right handgrip right? My bike came with a piggybacked switch on the high beam wire and i thought I fixed that blue wire, well i got stranded 930 at night on a wooded road in a downpour with no light whatsoever. fix it really good or get a new handgrip. I taped the living crap out the inside of that grip just in case so it can't short out
