Default Hagon Shock too long

Hi folks,

I have run into another problem, this time with aftermarket suspension. My issue is that the Hagon shock I got has raised the back end considerably and it has made the side and centre stand totally redundant. Its lovely to have life in the suspension again in comparison to the original F3 stock shock which is filled with squashed bugs and marshmallows but this is inconvenient!

Would anyone be able to recommend a lowering link? there are loads on Ebay but do not trust them as they're chinesium and would not be the stated spec. It needs lowering a good 20mm at least!

The shock is non-adjustable in terms of height, it has just the one spinning ring for preload. The shock is for the CBR600 F3, just odd its so long!

Thankyou folks, any advice appreciated!

Danny

Don't do lowering link. It changes leverage-ratios and softens shock.

Set pre-load to lowest level?
Is spring replaceable with shorter one?
Is there removeable clevis on top or bottom that can be exchanged for shorter one?

look at bottom of 2 shocks on right:

Post photo of your shock.

Hey Dannox,

It's a non-adjustable shock as far as I can see, thought about just extending the centre stand which would be a lot easier! It's quite soft to begin with and don't want it any softer!

It's a Hagon M61054 and it's a lovely bit of kit. It's quite hard to find bits for this one! Would the preload affect ride height? Need to lose about 15-20mm from the rear

Looks like you can unscrew preload adjuster another 15-20mm? Tried that yet?

To tighten it or loosen sorry? Would that make a difference in ride height? It's still quite soft..

allow the spring to be longer - the weight of the bike will shorten the shock. It's soft because it's a soft shock.

Preload/height adjustment makes zero changes to spring softness or stiffness. When you lower height-adjustment, hopping on bike will still compress & lower it exact same amount as higher ride-height. It's actual spring-rate that determines how much spring compresses under any given load. If you want stiffer, you'll need to replace spring itself with stiffer version.

Damping is another variable and you'll want to disassemble shock and change valving & fluid-weight to change stiffness of damping.

Unscrew adjuster about 10mm so it's closer to eyelet.

Sorry for late reply Dannoxyz,

Will give that a try, this advice is golden as usual buddy. It handles like a race bike though! Just not very practical at the moment not being able to use the stands and use the bike for anything other than a ride out.

Fork rebuild next.. managed to ruin one of the brass damper rod screws though. Thankyou as always dude!
