So heres how I got here. I got my 1996 f3 for free because it was stolen, crashed hard by the thief, recovered, then sat around for 5 years. It is a CA model bike which has a florida title and got to me in Michigan....lol. It came to me totally bare with a clean title & only 6500 miles on it. when i hooked a battery to it all the lights and horn worked so I decided to toy with it instead of parting it out. I cleaned the carbs out and got it running changing the spark plugs pouring fuel down the main line because the tank rusted through completly. I ebayed a tank and petcock and installed it after getting a new battery, fuel filters and cleaning out the fuel pump. yesterday I warmed her up, changed the oil, bled the brakes and flushed out the radiator and took it out around my neighborhood and IT RIPS. Im so happy that I put faith into it and it seems solid. I painted the calpiers, the top of the triple clamp, and polished both the lips of the rims and a new stator cover I picked up. Its still almost as bare as can be but im touching up everything I can right now because it def. has potential. Now I know its worth investing in (plus its payday). Now im gonna get some fresh rubbers, find some fairings with a 97/98 tail and paint them like a bike I saw on here. I was reading your post and thinking I hope he changes the tyres, and then right at the end you said you would be, I run Dunlop 208rr's on my bike and think they are pretty good. Bet you are well happy with the bike, make sure you post some pics when you get a chance
