I'm sorry for the newb status and everything, but I have done a lot of looking on this forum and searched multiple times for some general knowledge about the f3's and was wondering if you could answer a few questions. My friend has an f3 and I really like them and they seem to be affordable. I have ridden motorcycles before and have ridden has so I know I like it.

My questions:
With regular maintenance and normal riding tendencies, how long can they last (mileage)?
How often do you clean the carbs?
Are there any really common problems with these bikes?
How much is insurance (average)?
Is there any difference in fairings or anything between the different years of f3's?
Is there a specific gallery of f3's online?

Welcome still kinda a newb to this site myself but heres the anwsers to the best of my knowlege.

a. I have seen People with hondas run to 50+k but thats also with proper matence and casual use.
b. personaly I plan to do min every 5-6k miles, but I also am building my f3 from frame up.
c. I've read that the rectifier has issues but thats it so far.
d. Depending on your mvr my r1 was 250 a year full coverage w/500 deductable.
e. I'm sure there is but I have seen a lot of custom farings done with not a whole lot of mods.
f. have not foud a f3 gallery but google image searches work well.

 

1. A LONG time. It's a Honda. My bike is at 28k miles and while currently acting up, the motor is still good.
2. Cleaned mine for the first time after 8k miles. Except they were already clean when I opened them.
3. Rectifiers.
4. Insurance is always relative. Less than an F4i, ZZR600, or any modern 600. More than a 500 or 250. About on par with an SV650.
5. 95-96 F3s have at least different tail sections than 97-98 F3s. I believe the rest is the same.
6. Don't know.
