Default Gas tank Fairing question...

SO, I have the 97 F3, and I notice all the pics of the guys who have done the F4i front/RR Rear, have little gaps on the gas tank... is there anyway to resolve this? Will the F4i tank fit?

Another issue I have with my stocker F3 tank, is the paint looks like ****... IDK what to do about it, pics included...

Stole this pic from dementedf3's how to build, his bike is so sexy.

the f4's tank will fit with a bracket mod.

the tank can be painted easily.
take it off, sand it prime it and paint it.
finding that exact color can be hard though

also, maybe look into getting a tank pad/bra?

I didn't like the black i painted mine, so my bra covers it.

Nice! But the damage is around the hole for the gas... it looks like all the clear coat is gone...

Could try to remove the gas cap cover and then go to town on sanding. Make sure it is empty

It is a decal that has clearcoat over the top of it. Just get an orbital sander with some 80 grit and it will come right off. Then go over it with not so harsh sandpaper like a 400. When you prime get primer/filler to get any of the little gouges filled in. I am doing that to my tank today after I finish my fairings which I posted a question about today. You can see pictures of how I filled in all the mounts that I am not using
