Default gas in my oil

My bike has recently been sitting while i do some work on it when i changed the oil it was diluted with fuel?? I changed the oil and it has happened again. I haven't really been riding and cannot figure out how this could happen. The only thing I can figure is that the fuel is overflowing through the carbs while it is sitting, from gravity through the cylinders into the sump and from there into the crank case. I cannot figure how else it could happen. I have just changed the oil again and am now shutting off the petcock and waiting to see what happens. Does anyone have any idea how this could be happening or had it happen??????? I am puzzled.

With the petcock off you shouldn't have any more problems. Some won't leak out when the bike's off and some will. Best policy is to always shut it off when ya turn off the bike. Especially if it's going to sit for a while.

That is actually really good advice, nice job chainstretcher. Whenever I work on mine I go overkill and shut the petcock off and run all the gas out of the carbs then work on it... just an idea too.
