Fuel cutoff rlay...
Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the fuel cutoff relay. The guys at my local honda shop said it could be the problem I am facing and there is no sure way to check to see if its working properly. So if anyone knows that would be awesome.
a relay is nothing more than a electronic switch so just jump it, there should be at least 4 wires, 1 constant 12vdc, 1 to the load "fuel pump", one to ground for the relays coil, and a switched 12vdc to activate the coil in the relay, except on fan relays which normally switchon/off throughthe ground instead of the hot side, and who ever told you relays and that system cant be tested does not know much about relays, i would find another shop asap
i been all through my F3 and never came across a fuel " Cutoff" relay. relays are simple electro mechanical devices. as street demon said find another shop. If you are having a no start issue its probably your fuel pump if you'r not getting gas. I've gone through 3 now. You can simply bypass the pump and let it gravity feed to see if it will solve your problem and then just get a new pump.
the fuel cutoff relay switch is located in between the ignition control box and the regulator/rectifier. its designed so if you wreck or if you go to far on its side that it will not allow the pump to pump more gas. if it completely goes bad it wont let the pump do anything. i have tested the pump itself and its working properly. i just dont wanna pay $60 for something I can bypass and forget about.
i was under the impression it was just a fuel pump relay. so the bike can turn the pump on and off.
in the fsm is says exactly how to bypass it. but that bypass is used to check if the pump is working. simply putting in a wire connecting to of the pins. i forget which ones.
and by the looks of the relay, i dont think its a wreck or too far lean kind of relay

3 wires
get a volt meter man. ones hot, one goes to your pump. its really simple
and checking it is just as easy. supply the 12volts or ground it requires to open the relay. check for continuity between the other 2 plugs. man, you should really go to a reputable shop

im telling you guys exactly how to do it.
and i say reputable shop, because anyone with any kind of background with cars or motorcycles can test a relay with a simple volt meter
with that being said, if the shop he goes to is saying they cant test it, then he should go to a reputable shop that can
