Hey, I had a couple questions about the fuel capacity of a 97 F3. I was riding home on the interstate today, when I noticed I was running out of gas, approx. 128miles since my last fill up. I switched to reserve, rode about 6 miles to a gas station and was able to put 3.4 gallons in. Everywhere I read it says the fuel capacity including reserve is 4.5gallons, is this right? At what mileage do you guys usually fill up at? and about how far can you go on reserve? My last 98 F3 had some WEIRD fuel problem where I would run out at 100miles, but only be able to put 2.8 gallons in it. I just wasn't sure if there is some common F3 problem. Or if 128 miles is around normal. Thanks for any info!

 

I believe the fuel capacity is around 4.5 gallon with the reserve. I am sure the reserve is probably 1 gallon. But I am not exactly sure. I will check in my manual when I get home. I usally fill up around 130 miles. I have got over 160 miles and not ran out but I have also got 120 and had to put the reserve on. It all depends on my riding nature. I have got as low as below 35 mpg and as high as around 50 mpg. I would say your situation is very normal for a f3. Hope this helps.
