Default fork questions

Hi all, i have a 95 cbr f3 that i use as a track bike. My suspension is stock and iwould like to upgrade it. Now i was on race techs site, and it shows a standard gold valve kit, plus a rebound kit, and a compression kit, which one would i need. I also have a set of sv 650 forks set up by traxxion dynamics. They r both 41mm cartridge forks, could i just swap out the forks???

To put the sv 650 forks on would probably require everything, the triples, brakes and wheel, I would think. My 94 F2 is track only and I would like to do some serious fork upgrades but how much do you want to spend on a 20 year old bike. I'm eventually going to just get some race tech springs for my weight and the recommended oil. Just my opinion though. What track you riding, are you racing or just track days.

Does anyone know if the f3 forks and the sv forks are the same length? Are there any pros or cons to doing this???

Just because they are 41mm just like F2 and F3 forks, does not mean they will work with the Honda triple clamps etc. So lets say you put SV forks in the Honda clamps, Hey they fit, then you go to the bottom where the wheel is. Now you try to use the Honda wheel, brake discs, brake calipers, spacers, etc. Now there is a problem, Honda caliper might not mount on the SV forks, maybe the spacing is different at the axle. Maybe the Honda axle wont fit the SV forks. Maybe the SV axle wont fit the Honda wheel. If the calipers fit the Honda forks are they in or out far enough to line up with the discs now. See what I mean, you would probably need the whole front end from the Suzuki. And if you tried to use the whole front end does the SV triples, bearings, and triple clamp axle thingy (I cant think what its called) that connect the top triple to the bottom triple fit the Honda frame/head stock. I'm just saying. Now back to the latest question. It probably doesnt matter if the length is the same, you could move them up or down in the clamps to get the same geometry as the F3. I not trying to be a butthole, just trying to bring to light all the things that would come up to make this work. But then again maybe everything WILL line up perfectly with the only fork swap only. Who knows, wont know til you try. Try looking on SV forum, I believe some SV people swapped out their Suzuki forks for F2 or F3 forks.

the sv lads convert over to f3 front ends....

if you want to change forks get either USD or 43mm off the f4

otherwise get some springs and some decent oil and maybe a re-valve it will handle well enough to win a club championship

also check my signature theres things there that your engine might not have which will help ALOT especially removing your charging system and magneto
