Default flooding?

my bike will run great, rev fine, idle fine, but when i'm just out cruising, it seems to sputter a little bit like it's flooding itself, this only happens between 3k and 6k rpms, anything below or above it runs like a champ? any suggestions?

at WOT it blows right thru those rpms just fine, only when i'm cruising it acts up.

also, since it has begun to act up, my mileage has seemed to drop significantly, i don't have a fuel guage, so i can't really measure the drop, but it was quite noticeable

i can be going 15 mph i can be going 60 mph, but any time i'm between 3k and 7kish and i'm not pushing it, it will do it. it's not too severe, it's just annoying. it doesn't really make any sounds, it just acts like i'm letting off the throttle or it's flooding itself, but there's no lack in performance. if i get on it, it takes off

i dont think its a fuel problem...im thinking an air flow or a vacuum problem. My guess is those black things in the carbs arent opening up....they are run off vacuum pressure. Try going in there and seeing if they move freely. Also, check the air filter. if it has been soaked in gas it is not any good anymore.(learned the hard way)....wait scratch the air filter i just read again, it should get worse at aa higher rpm...check those black things in the carbs to see if they move freely.
check the hoses on the vacuum system to see if they are all in the right place and are all there and intact
you get get a manual from www.stephygee.com

yeh, i've looked at all the vaccum lines, and everything checked out, tonite i'll look at my carbs to see how that stands, but that sounds like it could be the problem. what exactly are the 'black things'? where would they be? ha. i have the manual on my pc, so i can look at that later if you don't really know. ha

so far as the air filter goes, it's relatively new K/N. and no gas is near it. ha atleast not yet

so, i started the bike up, and noticed i'm spewing fuel out of my exhaust. raw gas, so for some reason my bike is definately running far too rich.

vaccum seems to have been my problem. when i looked at all my hoses, i missed the hose running underneath the front of my airbox. hooked it up, now i'm gonna go test it out. thnx for the help.
