The upper fairings are the same for 95-98 but the tail fairings are different. Honda changed the stylings for the 97-98 models. If you want to switch the tail you will need the rear center section, 97-98 seat, new 97-98 taillight, and the newer 97-98 right and left tail fairings.

I was wondering did you have to cut the rear of your subframe to make the tail fit?

Will post pictures of this as I go. As far as fitting the tail. It slipped right on, Im just getting the two main fixings sorted near the tank and then will be making 2 brackets attached to the subframew to hold the very end of the tail nice and solid.
Im sure this is the easiest bit to fit but its been a bit of a pain, Im not looking forward to fitting the front and sides, my raidiator looks far too wide for it to fit, I will make it work though.
P.S. your bike with the R1 exhaust system looks and sounds awesome, nice job!!

Thanks for the info just curious because I was originally going to use the 600rr tail but I went with the R1 tail instead. Also thanks for the compliment on my bike its a work in progress. Good luck with your mod I would love to see it when its finished.

Hi guys.
Quick update to where im at, any comments or advice is appreciated.
As you can see im a little way off yet. My main concern is that as the fairing is for a smaller newer bike it obviously is a little short hight wise.
To get the bottom section to fit tightly to the front and sides im going to have to cut out a slot in the bottom section where the exhaust goes and then fibre glass a new piece in there.
I cant see any other way round it.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Jon

Well if u look at the shape of the bottom section, if it was a few inches higher it would run quite neatly againt the engine casing around the curved area of the fiaring and cover more of the engine gubbings up. It looks too low at the moment.
I would like it that bit higher to get a nice neat, close finish to the bike if see what i mean
