few questions

Default few questions

Just got my 96 cbr 600 f3 smokin joe edition.
I need to know the oil filter number,the proper oil to run ,and how many quarts to buy for an oil change.
Also whats the headlight bulb number and wattage .......

ok... io just did the oil change on my f3 and it took 4 quarts of full synthetic oil i used mobil 1 and every thing sounds great you need a oil filter and 4 wuarts of full sythetic oil 10w40 full synthetic as the numbers of a K&N oil filter 418-K9303

CBRFEVER did you use the K&N that is extra long? and did you use just regular mobil 1 10w40 or is that the special motorcycle oil? thanks bro!

of topic but if thats your 96 in your avatar that aint no smokin joe. Sorry it just drives me nuts when everyone that has a purple/yellow scheme calls it a SJ. nice bike though

As for oil i always use honda 4 qts 10w30 and stock honda filter. My bike has 50,000mi on it and runs like a raped ape. I belive the headlight bulb is a H4 45/55 watt

i used the short stock oil filter but i dont know the part number on that with mobil 1 1040 full sythetic for high milage its a silver container but my next oil change is gonna be honda oil like demented but i dont have any complaints on the filter as well as the oil i opened up my bike to the fullest the other day sounded smooth as a new bike

i gott agree. i dont see purple and yellow rims. the color scheme is off too not to mention i thought SJ edition started in 98 (could be wrong about that)

iT does have the factory rims they were just sent to california to be dipped.
I was told its a smokin joe edition but who knows lol either way i love it regardless.

The oil needed for your change is any motorcyclye grade 10w40 oil. You'll know its right when it has JASO MA written within its specs. This assists the wet clutches in bikes, any oil can be used but ideally a JASO MA one for bikes.
