How involved was swapping the tail out? I love that look as opposed that dated square stock tail light.

If your talking to me, the tail you see is the stock tail on my bike. The square tails were a few years older than 97

Then it makes sense I thought that was the F4i tail. I have a 96 and I thought all the F3s were square. So I wonder if I could swap the 98 tail onto my 96

Yes you can change out the light and tail section but it will require a few extra parts. You will need to change out you seat to a 97-98 seat, you will need the tail bracket for a 97-98 as well as the light, and you will of course need the 97-98 tail fairings. 1-10 difficulty scale, is a 2. The hardest part of doing this is getting everything you need. Ebay is where I got all of mine from.

LOL, yeah it was about 50 degrees here on Friday (Ontario, Canada) too! So of coarse, I was also out for the first ride of '09. Followed by the first wash (the bike I mean!) of '09. Then I put her back in the shop, cause it started to snow, lol.
My bike's purple as well, and I hope it pulls it off too. Your bikes all look awsome! Have a great spring. Ride safe.

Nice ride man...

I was wondering, how hard is it to swap out the 93' f2 tail for a f3 tail?
Are they basically the same underneath the fairings? (thinking of mountings for the seat & such).

i understood the part of needing to buy the tail bracket for the lights..
