RE: F4 rear rim on a F3
If you want to do it for cosmetic reason...yeah, a 180 will go on an f3 rim....but that 180 will offer no more grip than a 160/170 does.
As for the wheel, I do know the axles are the same size....but beyond that I can't tell you....might need custom/modified spacers and /or brake bracket.
I'd like to know the answer to this since the F4 rear wheels are easy to come by...

RE: F4 rear rim on a F3
The only reason why I want to fit a 180 is because my friend does racing and I can bye his second hand racing tyres of him for quite cheap. They only wear of the sides (at an angle I'll never be able to reach) and when they are done with them theres still miles of road tread on them. The only snag is that they only race with 180s. I'd like to keep the standard hugger on my bike and just try changing the tyre.
It was him that mentioned to me that the F4s use 180s and that I should try swapping the rim but I don't want to go and bye one and then it doesn't fit. So...
If anyone has tried this please let me know. Thanks

RE: F4 rear rim on a F3
I was again looking at this problem.
I think the deciding factor is going to be the width of the swing arm.
It would be nice if someone with a F4 can measure for us how wide is it's swing arm then we can compare.
There is also a possibility that the sprockets won't align.
