F3 will not F-ing run.
Here's my thinking. CV carburetors are finely tuned devices. This system is balancing the air pressure inside the float bowl air space. We don't know what having all the hoses connected together is doing to that air space. But I do know that when it's all working correctly, they run like this one.

I’ll check the hoses and see if I can’t find that solenoid online. I’m really curious if the exhaust I put on could be messing with the jetting. When I got the bike it was jetted for a shorty. Which was deafening. So. With that being said. The jetting that The previous owner had done for the shorty and whatever he did was 138|140|140|138 with the jet needle clips 3 down from the top.
So when I first got it. The top end was exceptional. Low end would sputter (the previous owner did the solenoid delete). It was however, running rich
so. He was running shorty pipe, k&n filter.
I’m curious if I go back to 138-140 and fine tune clip position if that would fix my issue.
Thoughts?
-Denali. Also IDoDirt, do you still have your f3!?
Yes, still have 2 F3's. Haven't ridden in long time. So, will have to do carbs (which I have a spare set and have already rebuilt it, so is ready to go) on each one. As for the jets, it can't hurt anything to try since it's your time and effort. I'd say go for it.
right on! Get back on the road man! It’s amazing. The only thing that scares me is cellphones. Geez people are so stupid.
also (pilot screws are 2.5 turns out) is that ideal? I read somewhere that it works for people. Manual says 1.5 though
update: put the k&n air filter on since the plugs were a little black (cleaned the plugs) took it for a spin and the top end was AMAZING.low end wasn’t the best. I think I’m going to replace the plugs and go from there. It’s so frustrating how it’s so back and forth between low range and high range running poorly.
any advice?
