F3 wheel swap.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
I have a couple of question please. Concerning front wheel compatibility between certain models.
Phase 1 of my CBF/CBR project and I am in the process of grafting a complete F4i back end onto an '82 CB900F.
Just to sweeten the ride a little bit you understand.
My concern is that when I eventually begin the front end upgrade I would very much prefer to fit that of an F3 rather than an F4i, mainly because the F3 is more or less plug and play and drops straight into the F triples. Plus the F3 has a compatible odometer drive which the 4i lacks. Win, win I hear you say...
But, the F3 front wheel is 6 spoke and I much prefer the 3 spoke look.
And so...
Is an F4i 3 spoke front wheel a direct replacement for the 6 spoke F3 model?
And conversely, just in case, will an F3 rear wheel slot right in to an F4i swinger?
If it's just a case of fabbing some new spacers that wont be a prob...
Thanks in advance...

Dont know but...…….my question is are the forks the same distance apart on the 900 triples as the F3 triples? If not you have to add or subtract shims and/or spacers between each side of the wheel and maybe shim the rotors out to reach the calipers or shim the calipers in. Basically a shim/spacer, shave night mare. Easier to just mount the whole F3 front end handle bars triples all the way down to the wheel and brakes. Also the F3 does not have cable speedo drive on the wheel like the 900 has.
