i picked up this bike from ebay. stripped of fairings and all. looks like a good deal and a fun project and just wanted to see what you guys thought. please dont be too harsh because i already won it and i hate when people are like " i wouldnt have bought that dude" haha

im gonna work on it while my license is suspended. I just need to find a way to meet and hang with some guys who know about fixing bikes or mechanics in case i get in a bind.

I am not sure what i am going to need to buy back to get this thing to where i can try to get it running. i assume a gas tank lol. anyone notice anything else.

ive never done anything like this before but it was cheap and i wanted to try. i always liked cbr's

 

its got a steering damper on it. looks like its in ok shape, just work on getting it running first. get a tank, fuel filter, possibly a fuel pump.

 

deffinetly re check those welds ! other then that when buying plastics make sure to get a 97/98 tail because it looks way nicer there are a few threads on here that will tell you exactly what you need to have) other then that you'll just have to check everything out in person. looks like a good deal and price seems right

 

I just bought a project bike too.As long as you got a working tach, brakes work, mirrors and headlight working, gas tank and the lil misc. parts to get gas to the motor then you will be legal. Everything else should just be looks. That and what dementedf3 said, then you should be up and running.

 

I am probably going to be getting rid of all of my plastics, fuel tank and the seat after this season. I have a 95 cbr. Maybe you would be interested in buying those?

Just kidding. You've got a lot there for 600 bucks. The F3's are pretty much bulletproof, so you should be fine if you can get it started.
Does it not run, not crank, not start, not have power?
If the electrical was left connected to the bike when the welding was done, the weld current could have easily fried the regulator/rectifier.....
btw....what an odd steering damper.

 

he said that he had it welded then rode it a year so its prolly not the weld.i havnt had it shipped to me yet so i cant say for sure whats wrong and why it wont start yet.

i really wish he hadnt let his friend take the cosmetics. the guy looks like he took the clutch and brake levers,gagues,and all the crap i need to get it even able to run agan. im kinda pissed about that
