Default F3 potential?

Can a cbr f3 with a race exhaust beat the new 600cc in a race? Mine does 0 - 60 in 3 seconds but I have never raced anyone so I am just wondering. Tell me about your race stories if you have any

F3 isn't really as close a "race replica" as modern 600cc bikes. You've got around 100HP on tap. Modern bikes usually have something north of 130HP.

so if someone knows they are gonna keep their f3 for a while, what can be done to it to make it as fast as new 600cc?

$$$$$ is what can make it faster. Im sure this has been discussed a million times but i`ll go back over. You can try to make your old 600 motor as fast as the newer bikes but you might as well buy a newer motor and stuff it into your frame. That is if you are a really die hard F3 fan.
I have heard rumors of people putting the 900RR motor in an F3 frame but its alot of work and you still would only be making as much power as a newer 600.
Maybe if you find a GOOD machine shop you can bore out your engine cases and put in custom jugs and pistons. Not sure how much bigger you can go but prepare to have alot of money to build it.

Now i think it would be cool as hell to find someone that stuffs a new motor in the old frame.

But guys the engine power is only one thing! don't forget the frame is STEEL not ALUMINIUM! so the F3 weighs about 10-15 kg more than the newer 600's.
There only seems to be 2 modifications that manufacturers do that is slightly more power each year and drop weight.
But again as willduce said it doesn't matter what the bike is if the rider doesn't have a clue the better rider will win every time, I get passed on the straight by the big boys but they hold me up through the twisties.

u could put a 48 tooth sprocket on the rear wheel and you will have a fast bike.....but u are sacrificing top speed quite a bit....u can jet it, get headers and slip on, and turbo it and noone will touch ur bike....as far as 600's go...i would just get a new bike

Dude, you wanna be fast, ride your bike.Seat time is what it's all about. These are bikes, not cars.Throwing good money after bad will not help you.If you are fast,it won't matter what bike you are riding.Bikes are like pianos, depends on who is doin' the tinkerin'.

To make an F3 motor compatable with modern 600s you are looking at spending 5 grand on the motor alone. On top of that, good luck on finding someone who will do the work. Most speed shops only work on late model bikes.

Get in some seat time.

F3's potential?

Potentially a great weekend afternoon riding thru the countryside
Potentially a great bike to learn about riding, wrenching and maintenance
Potentially a great memory you'll treasure when you do go to upgrade

Potentially a huge money pit trying to upgrade it to beat a late model 600.
Potentially a massive embarrassment after getting your a$$ handed to you after you spent that gob of money and they still whip ya by being a better rider
