Default F3 lowering link

Hello im a newbie here and to the CBR F3.. I just got a pretty great conditon 1998 CBR 600 F3 with 5,300 miles.. Im wanting to lower the bike with a dogbone.. My question is the billet dogbone with two holes is that a 3 inch drop? Also when dropping the rear 3inches how do people drop the front to match.

thanks

Patrick

I believe that is a three inch drop in the rear. To lower the front you have to loosen the bolts on the triple tree (4 if i remember correctly) and just slide the forks up the triple tree. I wouldn't drop it more than and inch and a half in front otherwise it will bottom out. Why are you trying to lower the back so low? I'm 5 foot nothing and all I did was lower the front and inch and a half and it was perfect. I had to one foot it at lights but it never bothered me

yes that is the link that i have and its 1 or 3" drop.... but you cant drop your bike 3" the linkage wont let you because it hits on the shock itself..(there is a 3" hole on there because the dogbone is made for 6 different bikes).... and if you found a way to use the 3" the bike would be higher in the front because the trees that low wont clear the fender from rubbing on the tire.......

if you drop it the 1" you have to raise the trees 1 1/4" ....

heres some reading...(2nd time i have posted this link tonight.wierd) http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0210_lower/

this bike was lowered 1" in the rear and 3" in the front????????...look at his fairing behind the front wheel, the front wheel clearance between the fender and how far the triple trees stick up..... dont get why it is set up like that...

UPDATE>>>>>>>
I installed the lowering link and lowered the rear 3 inches and the front 1.5. All I can say is its amazing the confidents I got!!!!!!! I feel there was no effect on handleing except the fact you cant lean the bike over as far as before.. Im not a huge knee dragger so im ok with that..I also think I might have to becareful with speed bumps but all is worth it for the new confidents I got!!!

I was too but when your short you have to give alittle some where and i was willing to loose the hard lean angles for the great over all comfort...
