Default F3 Fork differences?

Hi Guys, I am looking for a set of F3 forks and need to know if there are any differences between 95-96 F3 forks and 97-98 F3 Forks. I have read somewhere that 95-96 just have compression damping adjustment where as 97-98 has compression and rebound damping adjustment. Can anyone confirm or deny this, thanks.

I say its houy, I've always been under the impression that all F3 forks are the same from '95-'98. F2 may be the ones with less adjustment

actually the 97-98 forks are cartridge style forks, and much nicer than the 95-96 f3 forks they are very different internally.

Hell noooo!! F2 forks wont fit on F3 bike. You ll have to get F2 calipers, F2 wheel and F2 fender...Ask me how I know.....
F2 94 forks has preload adjustments I guess. F3 forks has newer cartridges with load and damper adjustments. F3 forks are the same for all the years as I know.

I'm just talking about 95-98 F3 fork legs. I know the F2's were damper rod forks and I'm not interested in those.

Most have said the F3 cartridge forks with preload and compression damping adjustment are the same from 95-98, except "TRACKF3" who has said the 97-98 are very different internally from the 95-96 forks.

Can anyone clarify? Thanks for your help on this.

The largest difference that I have found in the 96/96 and 97/98 forks is a little ball bearing in that makes clicks when adjusting the flow rate on the dampener. Honda removed that feature in the 87/98 forks. I also know the springs are different... being the 97/98 are stiffer than the 95/96.

from my understanding, for the 95/96 forks to work properly you have to buy a cartridge emulator.

I thought it was the F2 forks that needed cartridge emulators as they are damper rod forks and all the F3 forks were cartridge forks. Am I wrong??
