dej i see the pipes say ft worth.. im from the h.e.b. area if your familiar.. good to see a local. i like the bracket you made.. maybe a little design or paint on it would help it blend the gauge in better though? the gauge looks like its just there.. you get me? lol dont get me wrong though i still love it. good ingenuity.

i am attemping to outline the gauge with plexi glass that i have frosted and put red l.e.d's behing the frost so there is a light red glow around the gauges.. its taking a lot of time doing though.. i had one outline made but it cracked after i dropped it..

i am in the middle of this project.. im taking way longer than expect though.. i decided to get a little creative on the brace. well i cut the face part of the old gauges. in that place i have cut a peice of lexan (plexiglas) that i have cut the circles and rectangles of the f4i gauge into.. and have fitted that lexan tothe black backing of the old f3 gauge. its a bit difficult to explian to i have supplied pictures..
i have frosted the lexan so that i can put any color L.E.D's behind it so that it glows that color.. pretty neat if you ask me. please judge.. whether you like it or not some input would help out alot..
*update* i dropped this thing and the plexi broke.. so im making one similar but with less of the flaws you see here

f4i gauge swap, anyone done this recently and if so was it better to make the mounting bracket from plexiglass or can the old existing stays be used to house the new f4i gauges? Any input would be appreciated.

I would like to see the backers for the f4i conversion attachment before buying, do you have some pics?

i used plexiglas.. i thought it would be much easier to manipulate.
either, or.. it just depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. plus it depends what kind of tools you have available..

Default f4i gauge swap using plexiglass for mounting

So a piece of plexiglas, drill holes and use this for mounting my new gauges, which are bolted onto the plexi. Have not received the gauges yet but bought them on ebay. Pictures of this process would be good to have, a step by step thing if anyone has them, they would be appreciated, thanks for the help.

Default OK sounds good, gauge swap

Do you have pics, using the old licence plate for backing, car or bike plate? Good idea, I will have to look into that.
