Default F3 Air Filter suggestions

hey I'm about to change my air filter and I was curious if people have noticed a big difference with K&N or the regular air filters.

I found this website, (I'm not buying the used filter on top)http://www.gdlcycles.com/asp1/findme...t=Air%20Filter
The hiflow one caught my interest but I'm looking for feedback from others

Thanks in advance!

They say the k&n filters restrict flow from what I've searched for in the f3 forum. Not sure if its a fact or not though so don't quote me on it.

ive seen a couple of guys that use a filter element similar to a paper filter but its thinner. they seem to work better and are cheaper, i need to go back and search for it. but im sure the gains are not even worth all the crap that could possibly pass through the thin filter.

I can tell you first hand that my wife's F3 would not run properly above 5000 RPM with the K&N installed. I took it to a performance shop, we put it on a Dyno and made several passes, trying different jet combinations. The bike at the time had a full V&H on it. My F3 would walk away from it all through the mid range. I put factory header, with a slip-on and the OEM type filter and now she walks from me. I can't explain it. Unless you're willing to put a lot of time and effort into it, I'd stay with the OEM type of filters.

to each his own, i prefer K&N over anything... stock included, but i guess first hand dyno runs dont lie.

Thanks everybody, I really didn't want to spend the extra for the K&N anyway and now it makes it seem like an even better choice

I don't mean to beat on an old horse. But how much should a stock air filter be anyway?

I just called the local Honda power house and got quoted $100.00 .... ?? That doesn't seem right!

K&n will only work right if you are running a jet kit and short stacks.
